FIRST TIMERS

I’ve never done training before, should I join a group or do a 1-on-1?

Our 28 Day Challenge would be the place to start for anyone new, we find that most people at the beginning find their feet quite quickly. The group environment brings the energy and motivation to each training session. Exercises that first seemed foreign will soon become natural.

What do I need to bring?

Bring your water, sweat towel, skipping rope (if you have a custom speed rope), cotton gloves for boxing or boxing wraps and your energy with a smile.

What class should I start with?

If you are new to training, we recommend starting with our 28 Day Challenge, where you will be introduced to our Conditioning classes and a range of movements. This will help with your confidence in all areas before progressing into a Strength class.

Where can I park?

We have parking inside, there is a crossover period between classes to allow for cars to leave and new clients to arrive. Please park in the carpark before opting for parking on the street. Please be careful when leaving and avoid reversing onto the road, as it can be a busy street.

BOOKINGS

Do I need to book online for my first class?

If you are only interested in casual classes, you can book via the MINDBODY app. Or if you are new, we recommend our 28 Day Challenge, that you can enquire about over here. Bookings are essential to secure your spot, feel free to contact us over here if you are unsure.

How do memberships work?

We offer 2 types of memberships, ‘Silver’ for those clients who come 2x a week and ‘Gold’ for those who come 4x a week. The memberships are direct debited weekly on every Monday. Those who come twice a week can enroll in the Monday/Wednesday, Tuesday/Thursday or Wednesday/Friday options for either 2x Strength or 2x Conditioning classes and will need to come at the same time slot each session. It is the same for the 4x week, you will need to sign up for the same time slot Monday-Thursday PM or Tuesday-Friday AM.

Our sessions are designed on a 4x a week program. We do not recommend doing the same session twice in one week or you will most likely do the same workout twice.

Any of our clients on a Gold membership will also be able to access our Saturday session for free and our Silver membership clients get 50% discount as a bonus, as we understand exercise gets you results and you get better results with a PT rather than motivating yourself. Your 12 week membership will subsequently automatically renew unless written notice is received 30 days prior to cancellation.

Can I pay upfront?
I’m a shift worker and can’t commit to a time slot, can I still come?

Yes, of course. Please contact us if you are a shift worker and we can discuss the best flexible option for you.

Can I Suspend or extend my Sessions/Membership?

We do not allow suspensions or extensions on your 28 Day Challenge or casual passes. Please be aware of the expiry date when purchasing your casual sessions and that when your direct debit payments are processed each Monday that you will be required to use your passes within 7 days. Any unused sessions will expire.

What happens if I have to cancel my membership?

If for reasons including; injury, illness or moving away prevent you from fulfilling your membership or you need to cancel, you will need to email [email protected] in writing to explain your reasons and upon notice, your cancellation will take place after 30 days. Please note, your initial 12-week contract cannot be terminated for any reasons including ‘change of mind’.

TRAINING CLASSES

I’m running late, can I still join the class?

Please arrive between 5-10 minutes before your class begins. The classes start right on time, and entry will not be permitted once the class has started. Due to the safety of our clients and yourself, you will not be allowed to join a class once the warm up is complete.

How many people are typically in a class?

The best part about group training is the energy from others in the class. We range from 6-16 people in most of our classes.

OTHER

I am pregnant, can I still train?

We recommend you consult with your GP as everyone is different. You will usually still be allowed to continue your current training schedule however, some modifications will occur throughout your pregnancy stages. We wouldn’t recommend a pregnant woman to start training with us, only those who already have been training to continue. Please do email us at [email protected] to let us know you’re pregnant.

How long after birth before I can come back?

We recommend that you wait until your 6 week GP checkup and until you get the all clear from your GP. We also recommend a professional review your pelvic floor and ab separation to get the all clear approval to return to exercise as well.

Is there an age limit at 141 Fitness?

Yes, you must be 16 years or older to attend our sessions. Under 16 years would need to be a specifically tailored group class for students. No one under the age of 16 is allowed on the 141 Fitness premises without prior approval of 141 Fitness.
